In YWC, creative minds are encouraged to share their early dew of writing experimentation with an audience of interesting, interested and motivated fellow
writers and enthusiasts far afield.
You no longer have to write and shove your fledgling new work into chest drawers or cloth closets or be forced to give up writing altogether.
And there is no better way to hone your ability than to keep the flame of your interest alive through continuous writing, knowing you will be read by others and be assisted to get even better by translating your talent to a pinpoint skill.
Get Published in the Monthly YWC Journal
The YWC Journal is a monthly publication that showcases the works of young writers in the YWC network. Contributions are not automatically published. To ensure high quality input, each contribution is assessed and recommended by a professional editorial team. Works that do not make publication will return with notes and guidance for improvement and may be resubmitted.
YWC Monthly Literary Reading
Registered members are encouraged to join in for our monthly, virtual meeting/reading sessions.
This live programme is a part of the life of YWC. Members can read, comment and review works by other YWC members.
Relate With a Reputable Literary Mentor
YWC will regularly appoint a tried, tested and published writer as a group mentor for the network that members can interact with directly.
Issues like your personal style, peculiarity of approach to writing and literary taste in literature can be discussed with your mentor so you can have the direction you need.
Seasonal, Excursional Reading Event
At least twice during the year, there will be an actual, reading tour to take the form of an excursion.
A reading trip on the train to Abeokuta or Ibadan is one such, but this is open only to Group A members of YWC.
Please note that Group A members enjoy all the activities at a higher annual membership subscription rate. Group B members are excluded from the mentoring programme and the reading excursions unless their membership is upgraded at least two weeks to the excursion in view.
